Veteran e-commerce company Flipkart has reported that during 'The Big Billion Days', its platform saw a significant increase in orders related to mobile phones, fashion, and furniture. The company said it received 110 orders per second. However, the Walmart-owned company did not disclose on Wednesday how many orders it received during the sale between October 16 and October 21. Meanwhile, according to the information given on the Flipkart app, 14 phones were sold every second on the platform.

A statement issued by Flipkart said that its platform recorded 66.6 million visits during the Big Billion Days Sale. The company has also told that in these visits, more than 52 percent of the visits were recorded from Tier-3 cities and other areas.

The company said, "110 orders were received every second on the platform ... Between October 16-21, Flipkart has delivered more than 10 million orders in the mobile, fashion, electronics, BGMH and home furnishing categories." Grocery Partners of the company have delivered 3.5 lakh orders.

According to a report by Redshire Consulting, the brand and sellers are estimated to have sold goods worth about $ 3.1 billion (Rs 22,000 crore) in the first 4.5 days during the online sale event.

A release released by Flipkart stated that the premium segment of the smartphone has seen sales increase up to 3.2 times. It is dominated by Apple, Google, and Samsung phones. The platform has said that this year's sale saw a two-fold increase in Realme sales compared to BBD 2019.
