E-commerce site Flipkart has acquired Bengaluru-based AR (Augmented Reality) company Scapic to improve its consumer experience. The company is a cloud-based platform capable of producing AR and 3D content. The company is currently working closely with customers in e-commerce and marketing.
Kalyan Krishnamurthy, CEO of Flipkart said that we have invested to improve the retail ecosystem. We will make our platform so simple that users will be able to use it easily.
The company says that we will acquire a 100 percent stake in Scapic. Also, a team of experienced developers and designers will work towards accelerating the company's efforts to provide new opportunities for virtual storefronts and brand advertising.
Scapic's co-founders VK Sai Krishna and Ajay PV have stated that Scapic will create a unique platform through Augmented Reality and 3D technology, which will completely change the way customers view products. It will also make online shopping very easy.
Let us tell you that Flipkart acquired the Intellectual Property (IP) of Mech Mocha earlier this month. Mech Mocha is a mobile gaming startup that operates Hello Play, India's first live social gaming platform. Its co-founders are Arpita Kapoor and Mohit Rangaraju. Mech Mocha is backed by investors such as Essel Partners, Blue Ventures, and Shanwei Capital.
